Food City Cooking School Returns

                                   
  

Our Food City Cooking School is returning in 2010 and promises to tempt your taste buds again this year. Melissa d'Arabian, winner of season five's The Next Food Network Star, and now appearing on her own Food Network show Ten Dollar Dinners, will be joining us on stage at our Food City Cooking School. Melissa will be sharing her easy, affordable family dinners with us, promising dinner for four for $10, and endless possibilities!
Fabio Viviani, executive chef and owner of Firenze Osteria, and fan favorite contestant on Bravo's Top Chef is coming to Women Today 2010. Fabio will delight us with his Italian comfort-styled foods on the Food City Cooking School Stage, and will also host our Women's Wine Down benefit.

We are also excited to feature two of the most popular and talented local chefs on the Food City Cooking School stage this year: Bruce Bogartz and Jeffrey DeAlejandro.  Bruce Bogartz is well known for his eclectic southern cooking on display at RouXbarb.  Continuing his tradition in popular southern dishes, he is also opening RouXbarbeque this spring, which will feature cajun, barbeque and creole food.  Jeffrey DeAlejandro is the talented chef and partner of the British gastropub, the Crown and Goose.  Located in the Old City, the Crown and Goose brews their own beer and is known for their authentic British dishes, such as their delicious fish and chips. 

Want to share the spotlight with these talented chefs? Just enter our 2nd annual Cooking Challenge. This year's Easter Table Cooking Challenge will feature three categories: Deviled Eggs, Potato Salad and Easter Ham. To enter, submit one of your favorite, original recipes in one of the three categories above. The winner will demonstrate their creations on stage with our own Mary Constantine on the Food City Cooking School Stage and will also receive a $100 gift card from Food City!  Visit our sponsors page for all of the details now.

Along with all your returning favorites like our fashion shows, both people and pet, celebrity guests, great shopping and all the fun and information you've come to expect from Women Today in the last fifteen years we've decided to add some great new things in 2010 to make our sixteenth year event sweeter.


Women Today has had a great history of providing women with three days to build strong relationships between mothers, sisters, daughters, and friends. In 2009 we had record numbers of guests and in 2010 our goal is to take the opportunity to give back to the community that has supported us. We are proud to announce our first annual Women's Wine Down event to benefit our Empty Stocking Fund charity. This event will take place on Friday, March 19th from 6:30pm - 8:30pm. The evening will be hosted by Fabio Viviani from Bravo's Top Chef.  If will be an evening full of great food, wine and shopping shared with great friends all for a great cause!  Be sure to sign up for our e-mail alerts for upcoming information about this very special event, and check out the entertainment section now for further details. This year also look for our new Covenant Health Conversation Stage where you can interact with experts from areas of importance in your life. You'll have the opportunity to ask experts questions and get the answers you need. There will also be great presentations on subjects that effect a woman's everyday life. Be sure to check back as our specific stage schedules are posted with these topics.

Make sure to bring the whole family on Sunday to get started on your summer plans with our one-stop shop Summer Camp Fair, in the KnoxMoms Pavilion.  We'll also have our favorite Disney star there to meet and greet our attendees on Sunday, Jennifer Stone.  Jennifer plays Harper on Disney's Wizards of Waverly Place. Her character is the loyal friend of Alex, who is truly an individual in her style and in herself.  That's why Jennifer will kick off our Skirt! Girl Power fashion show on Sunday, and then meet and greet attendees afterward.
